Our climate pathways provide a more direct and standardized way of assessing the environmental footprint of corporations within the framework of actual climate trajectories. While most companies have mandates such as the Paris Agreement, the currently available data on the market is mostly in terms of qualitative rankings or absolute emissions. We assess the footprint of corporations based on scaled practices, so that they are directly comparable with temperature-based mandates.

Emission-based mandates inherently offer a binary choice between either having a net-zero mandate or nothing at all. They do not allow for subtle analysis of corporations based on their sectors and size on a continuous spectrum.

We perform rigorous external testing and sector-based case-studies to validate our data. Sector-level comparisons provide an excellent way to test the insights drawn from our models to independent data available by organizations such as the Climate Action Tracker. Analyses of the international shipping and aviation industries have shown excellent agreement with our products! We have also validated our own climate model by replicating the climate pathways that result as a result of well-established climate-forcing scenarios such as the RCPs (Representative Concentration Pathways). Our results are in agreement with those of 30 models used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
